Golden Palace Buys the Deed to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
18
September 2005
The famous online
casino and poker room, GoldenPalace.com, has recently
purchased the only existing known deed to the White
House. Golden Palace bought the deed via the online
auction house eBid.tv for an unbelievable price of only
$43.45!
Apparently the story of how Golden Palace ended up
acquiring the deed to the White House through eBid.tv
began with David Jenneson. Jenneson was in the midst of
conducting research for his future book “Night of the
Realtors” - which is about a Canadian realtor who sells
the White House - when Jenneson discovered the United
States Government had no deed recording the property
ownership of the White House.
According to his eBid page, Jenneson contacted the U.S.
National Gambling News Archives in regards to the deed, by sending
them a written request. After two months of searching, a
letter was sent to Jenneson concluding that the Gambling News Archives
office could find no deed for 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Following this discovery, Jenneson went through a lot of
legal survey and analysis, and was finally able to
obtain the only existing known deed to the White House.
After acquiring the deed, Jenneson put it on his eBid
page, which was found by Golden Palace.
Golden Palace is known for its reputation of acquiring
exceptional, rare and bizarre items from online
auctions. For instance, Golden Palace is the proud owner
of Britney Spears’ Pregnancy Test, Virgin Mary Grilled
Cheese and the previously owned VW Golf of Pope Benedict
XVI. Thus, the idea of obtaining the deed to the White
House via an online auction was like candy for the
attention grabbing online casino.
With all of the many items they have won from online
eBay auctions that have given them worldwide publicity,
and now that they are the proud owners of the only
existing deed to the most famous address in America, it
makes you wonder -what could they possibly buy next!
