Online Gaming is the Popular Choice among Brits
27
October 2005
A recent survey was conducted in Britain,
and the results revealed that online gaming has truly
grabbed the attention of the general British public
unlike anything else. The survey, which was conducted by
cyberslotz.co.uk, showed that the average online British
gamer spends an estimated 1,820 pounds on internet
gaming every year!
Over 800 people that responded to the survey revealed
that they visit an online gaming website at least once
every two weeks, and are at the site for a minimum of 2
hours, and generally spend about 70 pounds.
What is the cause for this phenomenon? Well, due to the
fact that the cost to visit the local high street casino
continues to rise, and more and more households are
obtaining Internet access, it should come as no surprise
that online gaming is becoming the more popular choice
among gamers. However, it isn’t just the online casinos
that are gaining more attention, online bingo also
deserves credit for the phenomenon.
In fact, it is interesting to note that of all the
individual gamers who were surveyed, 31 percent had
visited a bingo hall at least once within the year. Even
more interesting is 30 percent played frequently online.
It appears that players enjoy playing bingo online more
than in a hall, because although they often make smaller
wagers, they tend to win far more often.
The CEO of Cyberslotz.co.uk, Brian Morgan, has said that
the statistics in their survey that were revealed
shouldn’t be shocking, especially since they’ve been
stating for quite some time now that the online gaming
community is one that is ever growing. After all, there
is no question that being able to play casino games in
the comfort of your own home is far more convenient and
just as enjoyable. Furthermore, you never have to pay
for gas, parking, or babysitters, and can even play in
your underwear should you fee like it – No land-based
Casino could ever provide you with these luxuries at no
cost.
