Tribeca Tables release New Poker Game known as Badugi
22
November 2005
Tribeca Tables will be the only online
casino sites to feature Badugi Poker, a brand new online
game that is sure to be a huge success among online
players. Badugi is an Oriental style of poker, which has
been taking land-based poker rooms by storm. Due to its
huge popularity, it has now been made available to
online poker players.
One of the team members from Tribeca Tables, Steve Cook,
said that players are constantly looking for something
new and exciting to try. Badugi Poker requires skill,
which means there is no question that it will certainly
generate a huge following on the internet, and capture
plenty of player’s interests. Due to the fact that many
online players will be new to Badugi, it will provide
players who are new to regular poker, as well as those
who are skilled at it, to be on the same playing level.
Badugi Poker has become extremely popular in the Far
East, especially in South Korea, and it is also starting
to gain popularity in the U.S. where there are large
Korean communities. Moreover, in some land based casinos
in the state of California, they have begun to hold
Badugi tournaments. It is believed that Badugi
originated in Korea, where it was originally known as
Paduki, and could be played in two different versions:
single-draw and triple-draw.
So how does one play Badugi? First and for most, it is a
triple draw lowball style of poker. What this means is
that instead of the player with the highest hand
winning, as is the case with traditional poker, lowball
means that the player with the lowest hand is the
winner. In Badugi, every player is dealt 4 cards, and
each player must do their best to make the lowest
possible hand. In a lowball game, the best possible hand
is Ace, 2, 3, 4 of different suits.
The Badugi games that are being made available for
players to enjoy at the Tribeca Table sites have been
set up as limit games, pot games and half pot limit
games. All games will feature a variety of stakes
including games that can be played for fun and others
that are $1/$2 games. If you are interested in trying
out Badugi at Tribeca Tables.
