Could Troubling Rumors about Innovative Online Poker Room PokerShare be True?
7
November 2005
Recently rumors have been surfacing that
the unique online poker room PokerShare, which promises
players a share in their profits, appears to be in hot
water. These rumors surfaced after last weeks reports
revealed Excapsa network, the Toronto based company
which controls the network on which PokerShare operates,
were paying players out after closing their accounts.
PokerShare, which is still relatively new to the online
casino industry, had only been online for 2 months, and
it was unclear why the moves that were recently made by
Excapsa occurred. However, there was a widespread rumor
which suggested that the more established sites on the
network (particularly Ultimate Bet) had raised
complaints about PokerShare’s success in attracting
players away from their site. In regards to this issue,
Online-Casino.com and InfoPowa are currently awaiting a
response from Excapsa.
Apparently this whole issue publicly exploded when
players of the online poker site were sent emails that
told them to soon expect checks in the mail. Many of
PokerShare’s players had full bankrolls in during this
time, and players were concerned that they would not
receive the part of the profits that they were promised.
PokerShare’s promise to its players is that players will
receive a 40% share of all their profits and they will
allow rakeback affiliates. Thus, players could also
receive a handsome rakeback that in many cases was as
much as 30%.
Although the current reports remain unconfirmed, it is
believed that on the 1st of November, Excapsa put an end
to all PokerShare accounts on the network. It is also
suggested that they informed every member of PokerShare
about this via email, and made sure their office was
fully staffed 24/7 so they could handle all questions,
and so they could also quickly hand out refunds to
players. It is still unknown if PokerShare was informed
of this action before it took place.
