Poker Champion is Signed by PokerStar.com
6
November 2005
Recently, the 2005 World Series of Poker
(WSOP) Champion, Joe Hachem signed an agreement with the
world’s largest poker tournament site, PokerStars.com.
Hachem was the proud winner of a record top cash prize
of $7.5 million dollars at the World Series of Poker
which took place this past July in Las Vegas. Joe Hachem
has agreed to represent PokerStars as both an ambassador
and sponsored player.
This signing of Joe Hachem provides PokerStars with
their third World Series of Poker Champion
representative. Currently, PokerStars has Chris
Moneymaker, the 2003 WSOP champion and Greg Raymer, the
2004 WSOP champion, both of which are exclusive
representatives of PokerStars. Now with the addition of
Hachem, PokerStars has succeeded in obtaining the 3 most
recent World Series of Poker Champions. What’s more is
that PokerStars also has Tom McEvoy as apart of their
team. McEvoy was not only the 1983 WSOP champion, but he
is also a renowned poker author.
It is interesting to note that while the former World
Series of Poker champions, Moneymaker and Raymer
achieved their success at WSOP through PokerStars.com,
39 year old Hachem achieved his fame and fortune through
a close friend. Hachem placed 10th after entering the
first WSOP event of the year, and walked away with $28
thousand dollars. Then after being encouraged by his
wife to enter into the $10,000 No Limit Texas Hold’em
Tournament that took place at the Rio Hotel and Casino,
Hachem went on to win the largest cash prize in poker
history - $7.5 million dollars. What’s even more
impressive is that Hachem had to go though 5,618 players
to become the top prize winner.
Hachem has said that joining PokerStars seemed like the
only natural thing to do, especially since that was
where he really learned what tournament poker is all
about. Due to the wide range of games and tournaments he
was able to choose from, Hachem says that he became a
skilled player in just a short time. He also said that
if his Australian friend had not qualified at PokerStars,
he would never have gone to the World Series of Poker.
Hachem believes that PokerStars.com is the “gateway to
making poker dreams come true and becoming a world
champion."
