More Online Casinos are Granted Seal of Approval by eCOGRA

eCOGRA, which stands for the eCommerce
and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance, works to
promote safe and responsible online gaming for both
players and online gambling operators. eCOGRA has
created a “Play It Safe” seal which they award to
different online casino sites that meet the criteria
eCOGRA deems reasonable to successfully operate an
online casino.
Recently, eCOGRA awarded ten more sites with their “Play
It Safe” seal. Theses casinos were given this honor,
after they underwent extensive testing. The testing was
performed independently by professional teams courtesy
of a leading international auditing and business
services group. This group tested each online casino
site based on the eCOGRA requirements and standards,
which include fair and responsible gaming, player
protection and operational efficiency.
The Mini Vegas group owns the casinos that were tested,
and their Business Strategy Manager, Ismael Diagne,
commented on the testing and said that although it was
time consuming and intensive, it was worthwhile. Diagne
said that there is significant value in having the
eCOGRA “Play It Safe” seal to back you. It promotes
business, as it shows customers that the online casino
site is committed to providing nothing but excellent
service, and a safe gaming environment.
Including the awards given to these 10 new casinos, in
total, eCOGRA has now put their approved seal on 66
online casinos and poker rooms. In fact, it is
interesting to note that currently, eCOGRA’s members
account for almost 70-80% of the ongoing action in the
online casino industry.
The CEO of eCOGRA, Andrew Beveridge, commented on the
latest awards and said that next year, in early 2006,
eCOGRA anticipates that they will make even more
announcements regarding their “Play It Safe” seal. They
believe that due to the number of online casino players
that continues to grow, and the high competition between
companies within the industry, more and more sites will
want to show that they are committed to eCOGRA’s values.
